i think.. if you’re lucky enough to have found & formed a new family.. whether you happen to be of the same gender.. or of the opposite sex-
you’ve found u’r para-wife, para-husband, u’r para spouse.
most importantly.. it should be legally recognized.
if it is true..and, if it is real. and, if the relationship is dedicated.
people all cry for definition, recognition & a place of comfortable acceptability..
para- is everything it seems, and more.
it’s a title not coasted into – or, one to b taken for granted.. or, an accident of birth.
it’s an honor of choice.
i feel very fortunate to be a friend- a para sister.. to some of the most exquisite (to me) people
here on this earth.

We are starting a movement to change the way we view and label our step-children and parents, partners, domestic partners, spousal equivalents and others. With today’s changing and blended families, let’s update our language to provide alternatives from terms that exclude to ones that reflect loving family connections – We are all Para-Kin.
Come join us for our first talk!
Thanks, Marsha for writing and sharing the Para-kin concept down in Delaware! To feel like a p-sister to so many wonderful people is a true honor!
